Sumps

German legal regulations provide that single-walled IBCs for combustible and non-

combustible liquids must be stored in or on sumps.

The capacity of a sump must be equal to the capacity of the biggest stored IBC, however

to at least 10% of the stored quantity. If storage is permissible in a water reserve, sumps must

be dimensioned such that catchment of the entire stored quantity is ensured.
